Casa Lawa at Rondo

Casa Lawa brings its technicolour dreamworld to London for the first time: a residency at Rondo, the restaurant inside The Hoxton Holborn, built around The Long Table. Expect striped linens in clashing sunshine colours, candelabras, arancini with green olive and provolone, pasta alla Norma, tiramisu with Kentish cherries, and cocktails flowing all afternoon. The one entry in this guide that is not in somebody's home, and it earns its place: this is the big, loud, social end of the long-table world.

A long lunch, not a dinner: one loud table of twenty-plus, technicolour tablescapes, cocktails from the first course, and the afternoon disappearing somewhere between the crudo and the granita. The crowd is young, social and dressed for it.
